Coles will reveal on Wednesday plans to slash the price of more than 500 products for the next three months as part of a new cost-of-living program.

Bringing back its famous Big Red Hand to signify value, the savings will be targeted at families looking to push the household budget further.

Bulk packs of mince meat, chicken tenders, cans of tuna, breakfast cereals and pantry staples will be among the most popular products.

Coles estimates the average basket saving on its ‘Down Down’ products will be 19.7 per cent.

CEO Leah Weckert said the new ‘Great Value, Hands Down’ campaign would offer specials and discounts.

“This campaign is all about making it easier for our customers to find value across the store and online,” she said.

“We know cost-of-living continues to be the number one concern for Australians right now so we’re making our biggest investment in value for at least three years.

“We’ve spent a lot of time over the past few months listening to our customers, our team members and our suppliers because we recognise the important role we have in helping their budgets go further.”

Mother of three Annika Smith said was strategic with the weekly grocery shop, often opting to buy more products on special.

“The bill can really add up with three young boys – they are always hungry,” Mrs Smith said.

“With Coles introducing the price drop campaign, it’s going to be easier than ever for us to buy quality household essentials for a great price.

“One of our weekly favourites is spaghetti bolognaise, so it’s great that beef mince and spaghetti will be cheaper which helps our household budget.”

Coles customers will also be encouraged to redeem Flybuys points for money off their shop, access free Click & Collect when they spend over $50 and activate Flybuys offers on the Coles app.

Meanwhile, News Corp readers have until Wednesday 11.59pm to enter a competition to win one of 12 Coles gift cards, valued at $10,000 each.
