A woman has been charged intent to murder after she allegedly hit a man with her car before crashing into a house in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services were called to Sciberras Ave in Schofields about 3pm on Tuesday following reports a car had crashed in a house.

Police allege the driver, a 44-year-old woman, struck the man with her grey hatchback before ploughing into the suburban home.

The 38-year-old man is alleged to have sustained serious injuries in the crash, and was rushed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The woman, who was also injured in the crash, was arrested by police before being taken to Blacktown Hospital in a stable condition.

She was later released on Wednesday morning, but was quickly swept up by police who charged her with a string of domestic violence offences.

The woman was charged with DV-related wounding causing grievous bodily harm with intent to murder and causing grievous bodily harm.

She was refused bail to appear before Penrith Local Court on October 6.
