A teenager has been killed in a horror stabbing at a popular beach on the NSW North Coast.

Emergency services were called to Pacific St at Corindi Beach, about 26km north of Coffs Harbour, shortly before 6pm on Sunday.

A 16-year-old was treated at the scene by paramedics for stab wounds to his thigh, before being rushed to Coffs Harbour Health Campus.

The teen died in hospital shortly after.

Police have since established a crime scene as investigations get underway with assistance from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

In a statement, police said they have so far spoken to a number of people at the popular beach spot and have canvassed the area.

They are appealing for anyone with information to contact Coffs Harbour Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
