Luxury cars and almost $1m cash has been seized in Melbourne as a business owner was arrested for allegedly selling steroids and prescription medication.
Police swooped on two properties in Melbourne’s north on Thursday morning, allegedly locating a “significant quantity” of illegal medication, including steroids and human growth hormones.
Police allege the Melbourne Sports Medicine and Anti-Aging Science clinic in Moonee Ponds was selling prescription medication without a licence, according to the Herald Sun.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the search warrants were the result of a five-month investigation by the Fawkner Divisional Response Unit.
At a second property in Somerton, about 20km north, police seized $950,000 and 17 luxury cars, arresting a 54-year-old man.
Footage of the vehicles, including two Lamborghinis, a Porsche, six Holden Toranas including a VK SS Peter Brock and a Corvette, being towed from the factory was shared publicly by Victoria Police.
Police will allege the vehicles, estimated to be worth $4m, were purchased using the proceeds of crime.
The alleged business owner was charged with offences including trafficking a commercial quantity of prescription drugs and dealing with property suspected of being the proceeds of crime.
He is expected to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
